What Can You Expect from Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art that focuses on controlling and submitting your opponent without the use of strikes. The core techniques involve taking your opponent to the ground, passing their guard (defensive positions), and applying submissions such as chokeholds and joint locks.

Our classes begin with a dynamic warm-up and mobility exercises to prepare your body for training. You’ll then dive into learning and drilling a variety of techniques with a partner, focusing on both offensive and defensive movements. The session concludes with live sparring, known as 'rolling,' where you and your training partners can safely apply techniques in real-time. When a choke or joint lock is successfully applied, your partner will 'tap out'—a signal to release the hold immediately, ensuring a safe training environment.

Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes are led by Guido Amaral, a first-degree black belt from Team Brigadeiro, bringing years of expertise and a passion for teaching to every session.
